Principal's Message

Mr. Brown, Principal, College Park MS

Dear Bulldog Families, Friends and Partners,

Parents, we remind students every day to “Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible.”  We ask that you assist us in reinforcing these three key areas of our Positive Behavior Support system at College Park Middle School.

Thank you to all the faculty, staff, and students who came out and made our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration a success last Thursday evening!  Thank you also to those that participated in the OCPS Spirit Week last week.

This week is the final week of the first marking period.  Parents, encourage your child to turn in those final assignments for their grades for this first reporting period.  Remember, that this Wednesday, October 16th, is a long Wednesday and the students will be dismissed at 3:57 pm.  Also, there is no school on Friday, October 18th.

I thank all parents for supporting our focus on academics and for limiting distractions on campus.  Cell phones are permitted on campus but are to be turned off and put away at all times throughout the school day.  Parents, please refrain from texting or calling your child during the day and route all messages through the front office.  Confiscated phones can be retrieved by a parent or legal guardian.  Additionally, I appreciate all parents who continue to check their students’ dress code prior to their arrival on campus.  We do not permit hoodies, sagging pants, midriffs showing, slides, head coverings (unless for religious purposes), or ripped jeans that are revealing above the finger tips or that cause a distraction.  Inappropriate items (ex. Slides, hoodies) will be confiscated.

Parents, I also remind you to monitor your students’ social media and continue to collaborate with us.  In an age of social media, we know all too well that children can make poor choices when utilizing their cell phones or other electronic devices.  Please remind your student to act responsibly while utilizing social media.

If ever in need of additional information, please call our main offices at 407-245-1800.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have or clarify information for you.

Thank you for supporting College Park Middle School and thank you for the phenomenal job you do each day with your child.  Together we will educate, accelerate and lead children to success.  Have a wonderful Sunday evening and remember, At College Park Middle School, you are loved and there is nothing you can do about it!
