🐾 WELCOME TO THE 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR! 🐾

Dear College Park Middle School Families,

Welcome to a new school year at the Pride of the Park! We are excited to welcome our returning Bulldogs and all the new students and families joining our CPMS community.

To our incoming sixth grade families, we understand that the transition to middle school can bring excitement, questions, and a little anxiety. Please know that your children will be surrounded by caring teachers, administrators, counselors, and staff members who are ready to guide and support them. During the opening days of school, we will help students learn the campus, understand their schedules, become familiar with our routines, and feel comfortable asking for assistance. They will not have to navigate this transition alone.

As Principal, I expect every Bulldog to arrive prepared and ready to learn each day. All students must bring a backpack containing the school supplies, materials, and resources needed to participate fully in every class. Students are also expected to treat others with respect, follow adult directions, take responsibility for their choices, and contribute to a safe and positive campus. These expectations protect instructional time, maintain an orderly learning environment, and help every student succeed.

📍 STAY OFF MY GRASS
Students must always use the designated sidewalks and walking paths. No student should walk on the grass for any reason. When outside or in the courtyard, Feet on Concrete at all times!

📱 CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONICS
From 9:26 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., all cell phones, tablets, headphones, and earbuds must remain inside students’ backpacks. Any device that is seen or found outside a backpack will be sent to the Tech Locker.

🍎 FOOD AND DRINKS
Food is not permitted in hallways, the courtyard, common areas, or the gym. Takeout containers are not allowed, and outside drinks must be finished before 9:30 a.m. Please review the attached flyers for the complete policy.

👕 DRESS CODE AND CPMS CAMPUS EXPECTATIONS
All students must follow the OCPS Code of Student Conduct and dress code. In addition to the district dress code, hats, hoodies, Shiesty masks, ski masks, pajama pants, and house slippers are not permitted at CPMS. These items have contributed to significant disruptions on our campus in the past. Removing them from the school environment allows us to protect instructional time, maintain campus safety, and keep students focused on learning. We appreciate families ensuring that students arrive dressed appropriately each day.

🎒 SPRAYGROUND TAGS
Sprayground tags of every color must be removed from backpacks before students arrive on campus. These tags caused significant student conflicts and disruptions during the previous school year. This expectation is not about the backpack itself. Students may bring Sprayground backpacks, but the attached tags must be removed.
Any Sprayground tag brought to campus will be removed from the backpack, placed in a secure location, and returned to the student at the end of the school day. We strongly encourage families to remove the tag at home to prevent unnecessary disruptions.
