Chorus

The OCPS Chorus Curriculum is organized around four core areas: Individual Vocal Tone, Ensemble Technique, Music Literacy (Pitch, Rhythm, Vocabulary and Concepts) and Expanding Musical Perspectives. It is aligned so that students will master the same set of standards and skills in the same sequence, from Entry Level to Developing Level to Achieving Level for both middle school and for high school. A sequence of teaching and assessment strategies for each of the core areas models best practices in instruction. We believe that creative and quality experiences (knowledge and skills) presented effectively and consistently (habits of body, mind, and spirit) result in positive life skills (values) and musical independence (artistry.)
