Dear Parent/Guardian,

OCPS is providing both course recovery opportunities as well as summer school courses that will prepare students for next year and provide interventions for students who may have missed important content during this unprecedented year.

Course recovery opportunities will be available for students who have failed one or more core level course this year.  During this program, students will be provided instruction through an on-line program, called Edgenuity. Edgenuity offers standards-aligned video-based curriculum for middle school students in all core content areas. Students may participate remotely, or come to campus for support.

During our preparation/intervention summer school courses, students will receive targeted supports to improve their academic performance in preparation for the next grade level.  During this program, students will be provided instruction in a face-to-face, small group setting. Transportation will be provided for eligible students. For students attending half-days, no mid-day transportation will be provided.

At College Park Middle School we will also be offering additional short camps for specific subject areas or groups of students.  Our rising 7th graders are invited to attend the Civics Bootcamp and our Rising 8th graders are invited to attend the Science Bootcamp.  Dates for these camps will be coming soon and you may indicate your interest using the registration link in this letter.

Registration and information for the additional following camps will come out in separate communications:

  • Extended School Year (ESY – qualifying students only), Rising 6th graders, and Incoming IB students.

It is important for your child to register for these programs. Our goal is to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate competency in order to progress toward graduation requirements. Students must meet middle school course requirements to move on to high school.  In order for your child to participate, please complete the registration link below no later than Friday, April 30, 2021.

Please Note:  A hard copy of this letter will be sent home with students on Friday, April 23, 2021 containing individual student data.  Additionally we will provide our recommendations for summer school based on each students’ profile so that you can make a decision about which program is right for your child!
